Literary Flowers Note Cards
Our Shakespeare's note cards are a delightful collection of calligraphic artworks illustrating Shakespeare's flowers of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The assortment includes 2 each of four images, one for each season. Susan Loy hand lettered Shakespearean texts of flowers around her watercolor painting of those flowers. These paintings are part of the permanent art collection of the Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC.
Shakespeare's Spring Flowers features lines from Twelfth Night, As You Like It, The Winter's Tale, Sonnet 21, and The Passionate Pilgrim, surrounding a bouquet of daffodils, rye, and violets.
Shakespeare Summer Flowers features lines from A Midsummer Night's Dream, King John, Cymbeline, The Winter's Tale, and Romeo and Juliet, surrounding a bouquet of honeysuckle, lavender, lily, marjoram, marigold, mint, savory, and rose.
Shakespeare's Autumn Flowers features lines from Sonnet 73, The Winter's Tale, The Tempest, King Lear, and Sonnet 16, surrounding a bouquet of carnations, filberts, and yellow leaves.
Shakespeare's Winter Flowers features lines from Sonnets 5 and 97, and The Winter's Tale, surrounding a bouquet of damask roses, lily, rosemary, and rue.
Each handmade card front has a deckle-edged Literary Calligraphy art print by artist Susan Loy. The blank note card assortment includes 8 cards & 8 linen envelopes, two each of four designs, 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
