Vindication of Christmas Notecard
This notecard is taken from an English early modern pamphlet lamenting the abolishment of Christmas by the puritanical government. The central figure of Father Christmas proclaims "O Sir, I bring good cheere" while the roundhead soldier warns him to "Keep out, you come not here." The countryman on the otherhand is saying "Old Christmas welcome; Do not fear." The pamphlet also goes on to lampoon taxes and oppressive government.
