Damaske Rose Talc
The damaske rose was not like other roses in sixteenth-century England in that it was grown mainly for perfuming. Even Shakespeare compared his lover's beauty to that of a Damaske rose (Sonnet 54).
A Folger exclusive, this delicately-scented talc is boxed with a powder puff. John Gerard's image from The Herball (London, 1597) decorates the lid. A gift for all seasons. 4 ounces.
